Guys and Dolls Show

The Guys & Dolls Show is off and running! The date is March 10, 2007 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. As you know we had the "Child's Play" quilt at the Fair and we received a 3rd place ribbon for the quilt. The judge had some very nice comments on the back of the entry ticket.

We will be having some Make & Take Tables. We have a couple of tables so far. Marge Walker with puppets and Sue Wallace with Fishy Felt Bean Bags. Any other Make & Take ideas? They don't have to be quilting oriented.

There are a few collections confirmed, too. Baseball Bears - Sue Wallace; Train Collection - Jim Morrow; Nutcrackers - Desi McElvogue. I have a business card from a man in Genoa, NV that is interested in showing his doll collection.

Margaret Phelps will be contacting Fiddling Pete & Company, and The Roadkill lady.

We also have these ladies helping with the "Show": Raffle Quilt Margi Duffy Kitchen Courtney McElvogue Dolly,Cat & Dog Quilts Laurie Morrow Mini Raffle Table Jan Dunaway.

Looks like the Guys & Dolls Show is shaping up nicely!

Day Lillies Block Party

Day Lillies agreed to have monthly block demonstration projects for September and October. A volunteering member will present the block, pattern and instructions, to be completed by the following month. At that time, all those participating will have a chance to win the completed blocks.

Nela will present the first block at the September meeting. Those interested must complete the block by the October 31st meeting. Marty will present a new block at the October meeting which will be due at the November 28th meeting.

Garage Sale Find

We have a customer, Ruth Hinson, that found the most wonderful thing at a garage sale. I don't remember if she found them here in Bishop. They are embroidered Sunbonnet Sue blocks, and they are just exquisite. I think she paid maybe $5 for the set. Anyone is welcome to stop by to see them. I'll try to bring the finished quilt to the September meetings if I can.
